Former Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, Rachel Florence Appoh, has congratulated Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, on his election as MP for Gomoa Central.
Ms Appoh joined A Plus at his Thanksgiving Dinner to celebrate his historic win as an independent candidate.
Though the former Deputy Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection campaign against A Plus, she said she would support him better the lives of the people of Gomoa West.
“I will make sure we develop Gomoa. I will also go all out to support him with my energy, resources, knowledge in Parliament as the first MP for Gomoa Central for him to succeed” Ms. Appoh stated.
The former MP also explained why she campaign against A Plus during the elections.
“I had to campaign for my party because NDC made Raheal Appoh and I will forever be loyal and appreciate NDC. I was groomed as a student leader to become an MPÂ so I can never campaign for any other person irrespective of the relationship” she opined.
Ms. Appoh was joined by NDC Central Regional Chairman, Prof. Richard Kofi Asiedu and former MP for  Mfantsiman West, Aquinas Tawiah Quansah.
A Plus secured an impressive 14,277 votes out of 36,026 total valid votes cast, defeating the incumbent MP and NPP candidate, Naana Eyiah Quansah, who garnered 11,637 votes.
The NDC’s Yawson Mohammed placed third with 10,112 votes.
The victory marks A Plus’s debut in Parliament and has sent shockwaves through the constituency.
