The queen mother of Acherensua in the Ahafo Region, Nana Mintah Yeboah II, says the government’s inability to complete the construction of the Tano bridge at Ntotroso is causing significant harm to resident.
She therefore urged the government to expedite the process.
She made this statement at Acherensua during an engagement between the Acherensua Traditional Council and the leaders of the Ahafo Regional Coordinating Council, Asutifi North and South District Assemblies.
In her address, she explained that the abandoned bridge, which links Acherensua and Ntotroso, has led to the drowning of three people who attempted to use an improvised bridge constructed by a good Samaritan.
According to her, if the government does not act promptly and bring the contractor back to the site, more people using the improvised bridge might drown, as the Tano River is gradually flooding and becoming increasingly dangerous for commuters.
