Russian leader Vladimir Putin travels around in an armoured car likened to something James Bond would drive, and akin to the Beast driven by the President of the United States.
Designed to protect those inside the huge Aurus Kortezh limousine has an emergency exit through the boot and is able to be completely submerged in water.
Although the exact cost of the car has not been revealed by the Kremlin, it was part of the $197m Kortezh project – equivalent to £150m.
It was unveiled during Putin’s inauguration in May 2018 and was designed and made in Russia, with commercial versions of the car going on sale to the public six months later.
Putin’s version is a six-tonne armoured version which is 23ft long can resist chemical gas attacks, bombs and gunfire.
It also has a 4.4litre V8 engine, reinforce glass, run-flat tyres, night vision cameras and is said to be able to move the passengers seats inside to a safer position if a collision is inevitable.
When it was first unveiled as Putin was driven to the Kremlin to be sworn in, it was compared to then US President Donald Trump’s armoured car nicknamed The Beast.
Putin’s car was 150cm longer although had a smaller engine – with Trump’s at 6.6litres and weighing in two tonnes heavier at eight tonnes.
The Beast – or Cadillac One – also has supplies of the President’s blood and a life support machine, as well as being described as a personalised moving fortress with its near-indestructible structure and chassis.
The seven-seater limousine is loaded with weaponry in case of an attack, with tear gas cannon are located within the rear bumper to debilitate anyone pursuing the car and despite the president always being accompanied by armed Secret Service members in a motorcade, the car reportedly has a pump-action shotgun inside at all times.
It cost around $1.98m – or £1.5m.
It is not known how many versions of the Putin’s Aurus Kortezh exist, but the US say they have 12 versions of Cadillac One all fitted to the same specifications.
