The National Democratic Congress (NDC), led by John Dramani Mahama, is concluding its campaign efforts in the Ashanti Region, where they are capitalizing on discontent with the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), which has traditionally dominated the region.
John Mahama claims that the NPP has neglected the region’s needs over the past eight years and is urging voters to punish them in the upcoming elections.
Mahama made these remarks while addressing a gathering of chiefs and residents of Kumawu and Effiduase in the Ashanti Region.
“Our region has been neglected for eight years. The NPP has failed to deliver on promises they made. Now it is time to show them the power of the people by voting for change,” Mahama stated.
The NDC team, which arrived in these constituencies at 2 a.m., is confident that the overwhelming turnout shows the people’s readiness for change.
“Look at the number of people who waited for us in the middle of the night. It shows that the people are yearning for change,” Mahama added.
In his address, Mahama also reminded the gathering of significant projects he spearheaded during his tenure in office.
“Under my leadership, we initiated key projects that transformed the region. The roads, schools, and hospitals were part of our commitment to your development. We will continue the progress,” he emphasized.
Mahama’s campaign highlights the NDC’s vision for progress, and he expressed confidence that voters in the Ashanti Region will choose change in the upcoming elections.
