Asante Kotoko has announced changes to its Interim Management Committee (IMC) in accordance with directives from His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and the Manhyia Palace.
In a statement issued on Monday, the club confirmed that Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum will no longer serve as a member of the IMC.
The decision was made to enable Dr Ogum to focus exclusively on his role as head coach, a move the club believes will enhance his ability to lead the team to greater success on the pitch.
“This decision has been made to allow Dr Ogum to fully dedicate his efforts to his primary role as Head Coach, with a continued focus on leading the team to success on the pitch and advancing the club’s sporting objectives,” the statement read.
The restructuring aligns with Asante Kotoko’s broader strategy to optimize its operations and support its long-term goals, as outlined by the vision of the Manhyia Palace.
The IMC will remain committed to providing effective leadership, improving administrative efficiency, and supporting both the technical and playing teams.
The club also expressed gratitude to its fans for their steadfast support during this transitional phase, reaffirming its commitment to sustained success.
“The IMC remains resolutely focused on providing strong, effective leadership, enhancing administrative processes, and offering unwavering support to the playing and technical teams. Asante Kotoko remains united in its pursuit of excellence,” the statement added.
The IMC, established ahead of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season, now comprises James Akwasi Appiah, a former Ghana national team coach, and Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awuah, following the exit of Emmanuel Newton Dasoberi.
This restructuring comes as the Porcupine Warriors navigate a season of mixed fortunes. After suffering four consecutive losses, the team recently secured a 2-0 victory against Aduana Stars on matchday 11, signalling the potential for a turnaround in their campaign.
The adjustments reflect Asante Kotoko’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its foundation for future success both on and off the field.
