Ogum, who famously led the Porcupine Warriors to the Ghana Premier League title in the 2021/22 season, was reappointed in July 2023.

However, his return has been marred by inconsistent performances throughout the 2024/25 campaign.

Despite guiding Kotoko to the semifinals of the FA Cup, the team has struggled in the league, failing to secure a victory in their last four matches.

The poor run includes a 1-1 stalemate with Heart of Lions, a goalless draw at home to Bechem United, a heavy 3-0 defeat to Accra Lions, and a recent 2-0 loss to Nations FC at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.

These setbacks have seen Kotoko slip to fourth place on the league table with 47 points. Their record stands at 13 wins, 8 draws, and 7 losses, with 28 goals scored and 21 conceded, averaging 1.68 points per game.

The club’s leadership, led by Nana Apinkrah Akwasi Awuah and Technical Director Kwesi Appiah, have since moved to end Ogum’s tenure following the dip in form.

An official announcement regarding Ogum’s departure and the appointment of his successor is expected in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko will look to bounce back as they prepare to face Aduana FC on Matchday 29 at the Baba Yara Stadium.
