Prosper Narteh Ogum praises Kwame Opoku’s performance in Kotoko’s win over GoldStars

Asante Kotoko head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum has expressed satisfaction with the impressive performance of striker, Kwame Opoku in their victory over Bibiani GoldStars.

The Porcupine Warriors hosted GoldStars at the Baba Yara Stadium on Friday night as part of the ongoing 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.

The match ended in a 2-0 triumph for Kotoko, with Justice Blay opening the scoring in the first half and Kwame Opoku sealing the win with a stunning goal in the second half.

Speaking after the match, Ogum praised Opoku’s contribution, emphasizing the striker’s experience and readiness.

“For Kwame Opoku, I am not surprised because he is been here before, played in the league before and has the experience,” Ogum said after the game.

“Since he came, he has been with us training with us day in day out and waiting patiently for this opportunity to come for the registration to be completed.

“In terms of integration, he has been with us for four weeks and has integrated really well.” he added.

Opoku rejoined Asante Kotoko during the current transfer window, having previously played for the club during the 2020/21 season before moving to Algeria.

With this victory, Asante Kotoko now sits second on the league table with 27 points. They are set to face Medeama SC in their next league match at the TNA Park.
