Prophet John Anokye, the Prelate of Worldwide Word Ministries, has raised concerns about the growing dominance of foreign nationals in Ghana’s job market.

He believes that unless Ghanaian workers adjust their attitudes, they risk losing employment opportunities to non-nationals.

In a recent address to journalists on Monday, February 10, 2025, at the church premises in Adjirigano, Accra, Prophet Anokye attributed the trend to dishonesty, corruption, and theft among some Ghanaian workers.

He noted that these issues are discouraging employers and hindering efforts to create jobs. As a result, many entrepreneurs are increasingly hiring foreigners for managerial positions, relegating locals to lower-level roles.

The Prophet warned that the situation could worsen if this trend continues. “As more business owners become convinced that non-nationals are more trustworthy than Ghanaians, we could see foreigners taking over positions that were once reserved for locals in the informal sector,” he cautioned.

During the press conference, Prophet Anokye urged Ghanaians to adopt a culture of truthfulness, integrity, and ethical conduct in their workplaces to reverse this worrying trend.

The conference was held in conjunction with the announcement of the ninth-anniversary celebrations of Worldwide Word Ministries, also known as Hill City Church.

The week-long festivities will culminate in a ‘Breaking of Bread Ceremony’ on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at the Hill City Auditorium.

“We are guided by our theme, ‘Greater Mandate,’ which reflects on the divine calling that shapes all aspects of our ministry. At Worldwide Word Ministries, we strive to be a results-driven, truth-proclaiming, and solution-oriented global ministry, grounded in the Word of God and the Spirit of God,” Prophet Anokye explained.

He also highlighted the ongoing efforts of the church beyond the anniversary celebrations, noting that weekly Sunday services, Wednesday evening ‘Fruit Bearing Services,’ and Thursday ‘Global Prayer Palace’ gatherings continue to provide spiritual nourishment to members.

Additionally, the ministry runs special programs throughout the year, including the Blood Factor Festival, Altar for Altar, Healing in Health, Mysteries Conference, and the flagship Prophetic Arena, which offer divine encounters for attendees.

Through John Anokye Ministries, the church actively conducts crusades in schools and communities, while ICARE, its NGO, supports the marginalized and underprivileged in society.

Prophet Anokye also uses Worldwide Word Television and the church’s YouTube platform to spread his message globally, continuing to reach a wide audience with the Word of God.
