The Minority Leader in Parliament, Haruna Iddrisu, has taken a swipe at the current government on the implementation of the One-District-One-Factory (1D1F) flagship programme.

The Member of Parliament for Tamale South, addressing the House on the deliberation of the 2020 budget on Tuesday, asked the New Patriotic Party (NPP) where the $ 1 million dollars per every constituency it promised in its manifesto is.

“Promise and fail you are known for it as a growing attitude, you (NPP) said $1 million dollars one constituency, how I wish the people of Suame, Manhyia, Dormaa and Asutifi South can report that indeed they have benefited from GH¢5 million consistently from 2017 to 2019, there is no manifestation of even GH¢ 5m being spent in Koforidua,” he said.

He further questioned government’s decision to commit additional GH¢ 150 million of tax payers money to the 1D1F although it had already committed to the programme over GH¢ 526 million from the Ghana EXIM Bank.

“Why are we taking GH¢ 150 million of tax payers money in the name of 1D1F when you have already committed over GH¢ 526 million from Ghana EXIM? How much have they added to the employment figures of the country to do this?” he quizzed.
