The President of Professional Women for JM (PW4JM), Ofeibea Ramatu, has reaffirmed her commitment to educating and encouraging Zongo communities to exercise their voting rights in the upcoming elections.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Zalma Caucus in Sowutuom, Greater Accra Region, she underscored the need for active participation in the democratic process.
The PW4JM has intensified efforts to mobilize men, women, and youth in Zongo communities to support the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, former President John Dramani Mahama.
Speaking to Adom News, Ofeibea Ramatu highlighted the importance of empowering Zongo residents to overcome voter apathy and intimidation.
“We are committed to educating and encouraging Zongo communities to exercise their franchise. It is crucial for every eligible voter to participate in the election to ensure their voices are heard,” she stated.
She also pointed to challenges faced by groups such as Zabrama, Hausa, Gawo, Fulani, and Zalma, who have reportedly been subjected to intimidation and pressure not to vote.
“We want to empower them to overcome these challenges and support a visionary leader, John Dramani Mahama, and NDC parliamentary candidates,” she added.
Hajia Khadijatu Ali, the newly inaugurated leader of the Sowutuom Zalma Caucus, pledged her commitment to the cause.
