The Minister of State in-charge of Tertiary Education, Professor Kwesi Yankah, has emerged victorious in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary primary in the Agona East constituency.
He polled 267 votes.
His closest contender, Dr Ken Abrokwa polled 175 votes while his other opponent, Prince Yaw Essah had 127 votes.

The parliamentary seat is currently occupied by Mrs Queenstar Maame Pokuah Sawyerr on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress who has occupied the seat since 2009.
