Britain’s Prince Charles has lauded the foundation effort of Ghana’s first president Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah in building the commonwealth into one of the most influential world organisations, leading a global change.
He said it was the commitment and effort of leaders like Kwame Nkrumah, Kennett Kawunda, Pier Trudeu among others that formed the foundation of the modern commonwealth that has renewed the relevance of the commonwealth to benefit its citizens in today’s modern global system.

Prince Charles says he hopes the meeting of the Heads of Governments will build a more secure world and offer practical solutions to the problems of the various 53 Commonwealth nations.
He was peaking at the opening of the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting which opened in London today with a call for more collaboration and commitment to its objectives, especially in view of the new challenges facing the world.
The British Prime minister, Theresa May highlighted the need to forge a stronger future bond for the mutual benefit of all nations in the organisations.

She says a more prosperous commonwealth will depend on the strengthening of the values of the organisation, which are; the rule of law, democracy and human rights whiles supporting some of the most vulnerable states in the organisation for a more secure commonwealth.
She was hopeful that her talks with the leaders of the commonwealth nation’s including Ghana’s President Akuffo Addo, se will be able to attain that objective.

Queen Elizabeth as the head of the commonwealth recounted the benefits of the commonwealth over the years and expressed more commitment to ensuring the future benefits of the organisation will outweigh its challenges in the current competitive global environment.
