President of CILT International visits Ga Mantse

In recognition of the crucial role traditional rulers play in national and community development, Chief Teete Owusu-Nortey FCILT, the International President of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, King of the Ga State in Ghana.

The visit took place at the King’s private residence in Accra.

Chief Owusu-Nortey was accompanied by a distinguished delegation, including Dr Doreen Owusu-Fianko FCILT, the Global Deputy Chairperson for WiLAT (Women in Logistics and Transport); Ing. Mark Amoamah FCILT, the President of CILT Ghana; Mr Patrick Andoh FCILT, the Executive Secretary of CILT Ghana; Mr Oliver Bowers CMILT, the Chairman of CILT Ghana Next Generation; Mr Frank Osei CMILT, the Administrative Lead of CILT Ghana; and his Special Aide, Mr Frederick Dadzie.

During the visit, Chief Owusu-Nortey commended the King for his dedication to the education of his people, highlighted by the establishment of an Education Foundation.

He pledged both his personal support and that of CILT to train and mentor the foundation’s bursary recipients through the WiLAT and Next Generation groups.

As the first African and Ghanaian to hold the position of Global President of CILT, Chief Owusu-Nortey expressed his commitment to collaborate with His Royal Majesty in various capacities within the logistics and transport sector whenever needed.

In response, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II assured the CILT delegation of his unwavering support for the office of the CILT International President.

He emphasized that this honour extends beyond his State to Ghana and Africa as a whole.

The King noted that, the timing of the visit, underscores the importance of the Institute’s objectives in strengthening the global economy and benefiting its citizens.

His Majesty advised the CILT delegation to promptly establish a working group to explore practical collaboration opportunities that would benefit both CILT and the Ga State.

He concluded the meeting by praying for the International President and wished him success in all his endeavours.
