Boat operators at Buipe in the Central Gonja district of the Savannah region have returned to work following the supply of premix fuel.
This was after Adom FM reported the fuel shortage after the boat operators threatened a sit down strike.
The Coordinator for Buipe’s premix fuel, Ben Gbagbladza, expressed his joy in an interview with Adom News after a fuel tanker arrived to deliver the premix fuel.
He reassured boat operators and fishermen that everyone would receive fuel and resume work.
He also urged the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Central Gonja to request more fuel from the Ministry of Fisheries.
Abibata Yakubu, a fishmonger in Buipe expressed her excitement upon seeing a fuel tanker at the premix fuel depot.
She thanked Adom News for their role in bringing about these positive results following the sit-down strike of boat operators and fishmongers on Tuesday.
Garba Bala, a boat operator and fisherman, praised Adom News for their efforts and thanked the government for responding to their concerns.
He also appealed to the government to ensure a regular supply of fuel every week for operations on the Black Volta.
