‘Pragia’ rider remanded for alleged murder of lactating girlfriend

-

The Mpraeso Circuit Court has remanded 24-year-old Kwaku Siaw, a ‘pragia’ rider, into police custody on charges of allegedly murdering his 18-year-old lover, Adwoa Kutremor.

Kwaku Siaw is accused of slitting the throat of his lactating girlfriend at their home in Nkawkaw Krofoforom, after accusing her of infidelity.

Following the incident, Siaw reportedly told his parents that the deceased had gone to visit her mother when they asked about her whereabouts.

However, the continuous cries of their baby raised suspicions, leading to further questioning, which caused Siaw to flee.

He went into hiding on Thursday but was later arrested in Akyem Asante Juaso with the help of Nkawkaw police after contacting his father to disclose his location.

Sources indicate that in his caution statement, Siaw admitted to committing the crime due to suspicions that his girlfriend was involved with another man.

The Mpraeso Circuit Court, presided over by Her Ladyship Adwoa Akyemaa, has remanded Siaw into police custody, with the case adjourned to September 4, 2024.
