A Political Science Lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Akwasi Amakye-Boateng has stated that people should take time to understand the rationale behind the GHC 400,000.00 filing fee charged by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to him, the amount at the first hearing is outrageous but it is a reasonable amount.

In an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii sen show, Friday, Dr Amakye Boateng emphasized that the party needs a lot of money to work with and hence the candidates should be able to make the money available.
“The amount although expensive is not expected to come from the pockets of the aspirants. They should have people who believe in them and can help them get the money.”
