The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman for the Afigya Kwabre South Constituency, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, has made a rather comical confession that holding on to political power is much sweeter than having sex.
He explained that while sexual intercourse provided gratification for two participants, political power brought greater enjoyment to many more people.
“Sexual intercourse is enjoyed by only the two partners, but holding on to political power could help bring much satisfaction to so many people when the power holder is able to provide for the needs of the people in the area or country,” said Odeneho Appiah as his ludicrous analogy drew laughter and applause from the predominantly female audience at a political forum organised at Kodie by the Afigya Kwabre South Constituency of the NPP.
He noted that when a politician was able to provide a pro-poor intervention project, the benefits spread to the entire populace and not only to members of one political party, ethnic group, religious group or a social class.
The forum focused on the role of polling station women organisers in the 2020 General Elections and was attended by more than 300 polling station women organisers and some constituency women organisers of the party.
Africa legends Night He noted with pride how women had played a crucial role in the development of the nation’s democracy, and challenged them to remain steadfast in influencing the democratic path of the nation.
“With your large numbers, if you stay out of the election it will affect the nation badly,” charged Odeneho Appiah who advised the participants to team up with their male counterparts and remain active in politics to get the best for the nation.
He urged the women to take active part in the upcoming district assemblies elections to deepen the nation’s democratic dispensation.
Douching
Beyond political issues, Odeneho Appiah touched on other health concerns and cautioned the women against douching since it posed a great threat to their health.
