Police Hierarchy in the Central region on Wednesday evening paid a visit to the bereaved families of two police officers who were shot dead by assailants while on duty at Gomoa Budumburam in the Gomoa East District of the Central region.
During the visit, the delegation, led by the Deputy Central Regional Police Commander, ACP Habiba Twumasi Sarpong officially announced the death of the policemen to their families on behalf of the Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), James Oppong-Boanuh.

“On behalf of the IGP, the Ghana Police Service and the Kasoa Divisional Commander, we wish to express our deepest condolence to the bereaved families and we assure you that we will investigate this case to the latter and bring all the perpetrators to book,” he said.
 ACP Sarpong added that the police had instituted a liaison committee to handle the investigation and urged the family to see their dead relatives as heroes who died in their line of duty.

Spokesperson for the family of late Awal Mohammed, Sawaba Musah, thanked the police administration for their assurance and sympathy.
The two police officers at the Kasoa Division of the Motor, Traffic and Transport Department of the Ghana Police Service, Sergeant Michael Djamesi and Lance Corporal Mohammed Awal were shot dead on Wednesday around 2: 00pm at Kasoa Budumburam with three suspects currently in police custody.
