Police, Kyabobo Game Park vehicles vandalised in Nkwanta South

In a shocking turn of events, a renewed conflict in the Nkwanta South Municipality of the Oti Region has claimed four lives, leaving the community in mourning and raising concerns about escalating tensions in the area.

Additionally, the vehicles of the Formed Police Unit (FPU) in charge of border patrols and Kyabobo Game National Park have been vandalised with houses destroyed.

The clashes stem from protracted land disputes which have lasted for the past five years, leading to a series of killings and properties damaged.

Police is yet to release official statement but some strangers and residents in NKwanta were caught in the crossfire during the violence.

The perpetrators also yet to be identified.

About 10 individuals who sustained various degrees of gun injuries are currently receiving treatment at Nkwanta St Joseph Catholic hospital and the Municipal government hospital.
