Police Inspector installed chief at Bedze Agbedrafor

Police Chief Inspector, Raymond Kpoku Mensah, stationed at Prampram Division has been installed as the new chief for Bedze Agbedrafor(Afetorkporme)in the Agotime-Ziope District of the Volta Region.

This follows the demise of his predecessor, Nene Afetor Tetteh Kpoku VI.

The enstoolment was done under the supervision of Nene Nuer Keteku IV, the President of the Agotime Traditional Council at Kpetoe.

This was at a colourful ceremony on Friday attended by dignitaries from across the length and breadth of Ghana.

Amidst cultural display and fanfare, the Council installed Nene Afetor Tetteh Kpoku VIl, in line with the customs and traditions of the Afetor clan of Bedze Agbedrafor people.

Among the dignitaries that graced the occasion were, Nene Dadzi Atam,Nene Dapah,Nene Abri,Nene Korsoku,Nene Aku Amoa,Nene Odiaba, Nene Narteh, Mamaga Kwadade I’ll, Togbe Buami IX, Chief of Gbi-Bla the Gbi State, Hohoe, Togbe Dzidoah l, Sud-Divisional Chief of Gbi-Abansi, Hohoe.

The new chief, who has over 20 years of experience as a Police officer and the seventh to ascend the throne, was introduced to the Bedze Agbedrafor and the over 37 communities in Agotime.

He was then taken through the principal streets of the Kpetoe before he was officially out doored.

He thanked the Kpetoe community, Bedze Agbedrafor, and all stakeholders for the overwhelming support and pledged to prioritise the welfare of the Kpetoe community in the region.

He called for peaceful co-existence to create an enabling environment for business activities and community development.

His predecessor, the late Afetor Tetteh Kporku Vi Mankrado of Agotime, was the landlord of the GRA CEPs Training School, the NHIA, the EP School and church amongs others in Agotime Kpetoe.

On his part, the President of the Agotime-Ziope traditional Council, Nene Nuer Keteku IV, also in his speech called on all the Chief’s and Queen mother’s in Agotime-Ziope traditional Council to fostering peace and unity for development

“I am not here to bring dis- unity in Agotime-Ziope, my purpose is to bring unity to Agotime-Ziope and so, any Chief or Queen mother in Agotime-Ziope who does not fostering unity for Development, excuse my language you are useless.” Nene Nuer Keteku IV said.
