Police to get helicopters and drones to fight crime

President Akufo-Addo has announced plans to purchase drones and helicopters to assist the police crime in the country.
This, he indicated is part of plans to resource the police to ensure law and order in the country.
Addressing Parliament in his second State of the Nations Address, President Akufo-Addo also revealed, the crime laboratories will be modernized, and properly equipped to provide the necessary support.

“The police intelligence unit will also be strengthened. The perennial problems associated with police accommodation will be tackled, and a compensation package introduced to cover officers in their line of duty. We will give the Police the resources they need to do their job” he added.
President Akufo-Addo pledged his government’s commitment to protect the citizenry from miscreants.

“We shall not allow miscreants of any sort to terrorize our population; and I promise that there will be no hiding place for criminals” he stated.
The President maintained that, the law enforcement agencies will crack down very hard on all those who would disturb the peace of our nation.
President Akufo-Addo said the police as the prosecution services and the judiciary owe it to all of us to make us feel and be safe. I do not need to repeat that crime wears no political colours, and I am certain that message has gone down to all.
