Police foil reprisal attack at Kagaga SHS

Police in the Northern region Thursday prevented a planned reprisal attack by students of Karaga Senior High School (SHS) whose mobile phones were set ablaze by teachers.

According to reports, there was uneasy calm on campus following the incident which led to the destruction of over 300 phones.

Adom News’ Northern Regional correspondent, Illiasu Abdul Rauf which visited the school said a teacher whose name was given as Mr. Alhassan started the commotion.

He together with other teachers on duty organized the impromptu inspection in the school on Wednesday October 1, 2017, seized over 300 mobile phones, ear phones, charges and laptops were confiscated and burnt to ashes.

This proved the students who pelted their teachers with stones and chased them to a nearby bush.

Some of the students who spoke to Adom News on condition of anonymity said the school is not boarding thus expected the teachers to keep the phones until vacation and not to burn them into ashes.

This generated s lot of tension but the police moved to the school swiftly to avert any pandemonium.

Meanwhile, authorities of Karaga Senior High School in the Northern region are locked up in a crunch meeting following attacks on teachers by students there over the burning of their mobile phones.
