The two major political parties on Thursday held rallies to climax their 2024 election campaign activities.
The NDC’s event took place at the Zurak Park in Madina while the NPP held theirs at the University of Ghana Sports Directorate.
In a statement, the Service commended the parties and supporters for their cooperation before and during the event.
“The Police, also express gratitude to the general public, particularly the motoring public, for their cooperation, patience, and understanding during the road diversions and blockages implemented to manage traffic for the two special events.
“Furthermore, the leadership of the Police Administration acknowledges and appreciates the dedication and professionalism of all officers deployed to maintain law, order, peace and security during these special events”, the statement lauded.
With barely 24 hours to the general election, the added, “We urge the political parties, their supporters and all stakeholders to maintain the same level of discipline, unity, and patriotism for our beloved Country Ghana for a peaceful election.”
“The Ghana Police Service reaffirms its commitment to ensuring a peaceful, safe, and orderly election, tomorrow, 7th December 2024”, the statement concluded.
