Asante Kotoko has provided an update on the ongoing investigation into the tragic murder of their devoted supporter, Francis Yaw Frimpong, popularly known as Nana Pooley.

In a statement released on Monday, March 3, the club confirmed that the police have arrested Grace Siaw, the girlfriend of the prime suspect, Daniel Febiri, also known as Braima.

According to the club, Grace allegedly harbored Febiri between February 4 and 17, facilitating his escape to Senegal via Côte d’Ivoire.

She was arraigned on February 25 and remanded into custody, with her next court appearance scheduled for today as investigations continue.

Nana Pooley tragically lost his life after being fatally stabbed in Nsoatre on February 2, 2025, during a Matchday 19 fixture between Nsoatreman FC and Asante Kotoko at Nana Kronmansah Park.

Asante Kotoko has reaffirmed its commitment to seeking justice for Nana Pooley and has urged supporters to remain patient as legal proceedings unfold.

Earlier, the Ghana Police Service arrested seven individuals in connection with the case, including Ignatius Baffour Awuah, the owner of Nsoatreman FC and a former Minister for Labour and Employment.

Meanwhile, final funeral rites for Nana Pooley are scheduled to take place in Kumasi on March 6.
