Play all genres on radio; don’t be one sided – Magnom tells DJs

-

Artiste and music producer, Joseph Bulley popularly called Magnom has urged media houses especially disc jockeys (DJs) across the country to play different songs on their platforms.

According to him, Ghana music will only go far when attention is given to young talents who do different music genres.

The “My Baby” singer said DJs have the power to make songs popular thus should not only play what is trending.

Speaking on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM on Thursday, the “My Baby” hitmaker said, “If an artiste does a different genre, radio stations must play their songs. I feel it’s not fair and not helping us grow. It forces artistes to switch up their styles which sometimes affect production.

I have talented artistes doing dope songs but because it doesn’t follow the mainstream format, radio stations ignore them. We choose one trending genre and leave the others… even the ‘old’ artistes come back want the same sound and I think the whole industry is not listening,” he explained further.
