The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has revealed plans to integrate Kumawood actors into Senior High School (SHS) entertainment programs across the region.
According to the Minister, the initiative is part of a broader strategy to incorporate sectors such as health, fashion, and creative arts into school activities in order to inspire and nurture students through local culture and talent.
Dr. Amoakohene explained that the collaboration will see Kumawood actors and creatives featured in school entertainment sessions to spark student interest and engagement.
He also disclosed plans for a partnership between the fashion industry and Kumawood to produce costumes for film sets, adding that such collaborations would strengthen local industries and open doors for young talents.
“The idea is to promote Ghanaian pride among young people. When we teach them to value and love local content early, they’ll grow up with respect for their identity and contribute positively to nation-building,” he emphasized.
