Plan Ghana International, led by its Country Director Constant Tchona, has met with the Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, to discuss potential collaborations aimed at addressing youth unemployment and empowering the next generation of skilled professionals.
At the center of the discussions was the creation of a “Hub of Excellence,” which aims to provide specialized training in automotive repair and maintenance.
This initiative is designed to equip young people with the technical skills necessary for successful careers in the rapidly growing automotive industry.
The Hub of Excellence will offer hands-on training and industry-focused education, ensuring students acquire practical knowledge tailored to meet the evolving demands of the job market.
In addition to training youth, the program will focus on strengthening the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector by equipping TVET teachers with the expertise needed to deliver high-quality, industry-relevant lessons.
Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu expressed full support for the initiative, emphasizing that it aligns with the Ministry’s vision to equip the youth with practical, employable skills.
He noted that programs like this are essential for building a future workforce capable of driving economic growth and reducing unemployment across the country.
Through this partnership, the Ministry aims to not only empower the youth with valuable skills but also contribute to the development of Ghana’s automotive sector, creating long-term career opportunities for young professionals and fostering economic growth nationwide.
