PL: Scoring in opening day will give me confidence for upcoming games – Semenyo

-

Ghana international, Antoine Semenyo is eager to continue his goal-scoring form after netting in the opening match of the 2024/25 Premier League season.

Semenyo struck late in the second half to level the score at 1-1 as AFC Bournemouth faced Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

Chris Wood had given the home side a first-half lead.

“I’m feeling more confident for the upcoming matches,” Semenyo told the club’s media.

“The manager and his assistants emphasized throughout preseason the importance of making runs to the back post. That advice paid off today, so I’ll keep focusing on getting into those positions to score,” he added.

Having scored eight goals in 33 appearances for Bournemouth last season, Semenyo will look to maintain his form when the Cherries host Newcastle United at the Vitality Stadium next weekend.
