Piina SHS headmaster interdicted over alleged diversion of school food items

-

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has interdicted Adams Mahama Issahaku, headmaster of Piina Senior High School in the Upper West Region, following a directive from the Director-General.

The interdiction, which takes immediate effect, is linked to an ongoing investigation into allegations that food items were found in Mr. Issahaku’s official pick-up vehicle while he was traveling from Piina SHS to Wa on Thursday, February 6, 2025.

A letter dated February 7 and signed by Razak Z. Abdul-Korah, Upper West Regional Director of GES, clarified that the interdiction is a procedural step and does not imply guilt.

GES assured stakeholders of a thorough investigation, stating that Mr. Issahaku would be informed of the findings and any further decisions.

As part of the directive, he has been instructed to hand over the school’s administration and all official property to the Upper West Regional Director of Education.

He has also been urged to fully cooperate with the investigation and refrain from any actions that may interfere with the process.

The GES reiterated its commitment to transparency and accountability in the education sector and called on all parties involved to adhere to the directives to ensure a smooth investigative process.
