One person has been confirmed dead with two others in critical conditions in a bullion van accident on the Techiman highway in the Bono East Region.

Information gathered by Adom News indicate the accident occurred in a head on collision involving a Bank of Ghana (BoG) bullion van with registration number, GV 88-13, which was from Tamale to Kumasi and a fuel tanker with registration number, DP 4222-E, from Kumasi around 12:30pm on Friday.

Driver and one cashier on board the BOG bullion van are in critical condition and have been airlifted from the Techiman Holy Family Hospital to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.

The impact of the accident forced the money believed to be Ghc60,500,000 in the bullion van to scatter all over the accident scene.

A combined team of the Military, Police, Fire Service, Immigration and BNI stormed the scene and collected the scattered money into various security vehicles to be kept at the Police Divisional Headquarters till another bullion van came to convey the money to kumasi under the guard of 4 military and 4 police personnel.

Meanwhile, the occupants of the bullion van have been identified as Mr Kwaku Asante Yeboah, head of security escorting the bullion van and driver of the fuel tanker as Osman Zongo.
