A landlord has reportedly killed his tenant for refusing to vacate his house.
According to reports, the suspect Daniel Mantey killed his tenant, Eric Tettey following the latter’s refusal to pay rent.
This incident occurred at Kofi Gyame quarters near Adansi Grumesa in the Adansi Akrofuom district of Ashanti Region.

Narrating the incident to Adom news correspondent Isaac K Normanyo, Evelyn Dansowaa, the wife of the deceased said the landlord forcibly went into their room and removed their belongings.

“We decided to cook after church service so my husband asked me to peel the cassava while he sets the fire. The landlord barged in to exchange words with my husband and in the process slashed his neck with a cutlass” she bemoaned.
Confirming the incident, ASP Martin Asenso, the Obuasi District Police Commander said they had a telephone call from residents in the area and quickly rushed over to the place.

“We had the information around
The Commander added that, the landlord is on the run but they have left information with the chief and people of the town to help apprehend the culprit.
Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue.
