Outspoken actress, Yvonne Nelson has chided influential New Patriotic Member and relative of President Akufo-Addo, Gabby Otchere-Darko for saying he is disappointed in Ghanaian movies.
She wasn’t the only one who appears outraged by Gabby’s assertions that the Ghanaian entertainment industry doesn’t support Ghana’s developmental agenda.
Media personalities, Lydia Forson, Kafui Danku and Bridgette Otoo, all vented their anger at Mr Otchere-Darko for “disrespecting” the efforts of industry players in the movie sector.

Yvonne made her thoughts known in a series of tweets, with one of them saying “people in high places just don’t know our struggles. It’s unbelievable.”
Miss Forson said: “Our industry is not perfect, far from, in fact it needs a lot of help and structure; and we need to have important and brutal conversations about it. But if the people who promised to help aren’t doing their jobs, they shouldn’t have a right to speak on it either”.

Kafui Danku also urged the government to put structures in place to encourage movie actors and not to bash industry players making efforts.
