Teachers of Agona Nyarkrom Catholic School in the Central region have threatened to leave their death trap school building following the collapse of a portion of the weak building on a pupil and another suffering a snake bite.
Checks by Adom News indicate that the school was adjudged the best in the Agona West Municipality after the release of the Basic Education Certificate Examination results despite the bad nature of the facility.

In an interview with Adom News, Gilbert Sibu, who spoke on behalf of the school, revealed their school becomes a swimming pool anytime it rains.
“The entire teachers have threatened to leave the school to save their lives if the problem is not solved. The former National Democratic Congress government started a three-unit classroom block for the school, but the building has been abandoned after they lost the elections,” he said.

“Several letters written to the Education Director and the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) have all proved futile,” he added.
Meanwhile, some of the pupils, who recounted the ordeal of their two colleagues, appealed to the MCE for Agona West, Marigold Assan, their Member of Parliament, Cynthia Morrison and the Ministry of Education to come to their aid immediately before the entire building unexpectedly collapses.
However, efforts to get the MCE and the Education Directorate to comment on the issue have proved futile.
