Subsea7 Volta Contractors, a world-class firm in seabed-to-surface engineering, construction and services to the offshore energy industry has revealed the company will use 95% of local content in its construction activities.
The company has also stated its readiness to work with local companies as a way of adding to the growth and development of the country.
The CEO of subsea7 Volta Contractors, Jean Cahuzac, has disclosed during the launch of the company in Accra on Monday, November 26, 2018, said Ghana’s many potentials in the oil and gas industry is what has attracted them to venture into the Ghanaian market.

“We chose Ghana because of its future in oil and gas because it’s also a country with a good education in terms of engineering and other technical studies which produce skilled personnel for this kind of business we do”, he stated.
Mr Cahuzac added that Subsea7 Volta Contractors take initiatives in countries that have long-term growth indicators and they see Ghana as one of those countries.
“In development and training, we will recruit people and train them both in Ghana and abroad to acquire the necessary education they need in this area of work. There will also be a transfer of technology across countries to benefit Ghana,” he noted.
The acting CEO of the Petroleum Commission, Egbert Faibille who was present at the launch as the guest of honour, congratulated the company and wished them well.

He noted that the decision of the company to set up in Ghana was a mark of confidence in the Ghanaian economy and the Petroleum Commission was looking forward to working with them.
