Former President Jerry John Rawlings has immensely commended students of Mamfe-Akwapim Methodist Girls Senior High School for performing exceptionally at the Students for the Advancement of Global Entrepreneurship (SAGE) World Cup in Odessa, Ukraine.
Through his Facebook post, the former President applauded the students, who represented Ghana at the competition, for placing fifth out of the 32 participating countries.
He urged the state and corporate institutions across the country to offer them the needed and moral logistical support to ensure that their “little project blooms into a great example of what young people, especially women and girls, can do to uplift themselves and society.”
The Ghanaian team and other competing countries mounted exhibition stands for the competition monitored by judges.
The competition was crowned with an awards gala dinner where various prizes were given to the delegates.
Team Ghana took an award for Sustainable Development Goal 8 (decent work and economic growth) and took the overall fifth position.
