Properties worth thousands have been destroyed in Assin Fosu after a fire outbreak razed down a refrigerator repairing shop.
The incident happened in the absence of the shop owner; besides, the shop doesn’t have access to electricity.
Although the Assin Fosu fire station personnel who came to the scene to fight the fire are yet to know the extent of damage public, Adom News can confirm that over 70 pieces of refrigerators, money and provisions meant for sale got burnt in the process.

Some eyewitness who spoke to Adom News explained that the shop and the properties would have been saved from total destruction if the fire service personnel had arrived early.
“We saw massive smoke emanating from the shop but several attempts to quench the fire with normal water yielded no result,” the people said.

Although the owner of the shop, Augustine Frimpong Armah, has no idea as to what might have triggered the fire.
Some people who live around the scene suspect that scrap dealers might have set the shop on fire in their quest to getting scraps in the long run.
According to them, two scrap dealers attempted to break into the shop but eventually took to their heels when two children who were playing around the area at the time, raised an alarm for the arrest of the suspected thieves.

Few hours after that incident, the shop started burning.
However, ADO 2 Nobert Amoh Sarfo, the deputy fire commander in Assin Fosu said his outfit, has initiated a full-scale investigation into the matter to obtain the course of the fire.
