Paramount chief of Mampong, Daasebre Dr Osei Bonsu II heeded to the words of Asantehene Otumfuor Osei Tutu II to represent him at the final rites of the late UN Boss, Kofi Atta Annan.

Kofi Annan takes his lineage from the Ashanti Kingdom where he was enstooled and given the Chief title “Busumuru” by the Ashanti King, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II.

The occupant of the silver stool filed past the mortal remains of the UN Boss, accompanied by some members of the delegation, with some drumming and dancing to bid Kofi Annan farewell in the afterlife.

The wife, children and the Akwamuman family, together with the committee, welcomed Otumfuor’s representative at the funeral grounds for the farewell gesture.

Some items such as schnapps, gins were given to the remains to use in his afterlife journey.

The second day of the final funeral rites for Kofi Atta Annan, former Secretary-General has commenced at the Accra International Conference Centre today.

Former ministers of state, Members of the diplomatic corps, Members of Parliament, Ministers of state, Members of the Council of State, Members of the Mfantsipim Old Boys Association, Chiefs and Queen mothers are expected to pay their last respect to the global icon.

Members of the traditional council, Chiefs and Queen mothers, the Akwamuhene and his delegation including that of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II will also past Mr Annan’s remains.
