The exercise which is in partnership with the Islamic Medical Association of Ghana (IMAGH), a non-governmental, non-profit organization, has been split into two, with the first phase taking place at the premises of Multimedia at Kokomemle, Accra on Saturday, December 30, 2017.
Hundreds of staff of Joy FM, Adom FM, Hitz FM, Multi TV, Myjoyonline.com and Adomonline.com went through screening for cardiovascular diseases such as Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension and Hypercholesterinemia.
The second phase which is expected to cover employees of Luv FM and Nhyira FM in Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Region will be organised at a yet-to-be-determined date.
Led by Dr. Samed Tanko, a Consultant Cardiologist at the Korle-bu Teaching Hospital, the team of Doctors, Nurses, Pharmacists, Biomedical scientists, Dieticians and clinical psychologists from major hospitals in Ghana supervised the screening and provided consultation and counselling to every staff member based on the screening report.
Participants had the opportunity of having their cardiovascular risks calculated and their metabolic age assessed and compared to your real age.
