A 20-year-old man has been arrested by the Koforidua District Police command for allegedly killing a 25-year-old man over a missing mobile phone.
The suspect, Emmanuel Kwame Kwakye allegedly stabbed the victim in his left thigh when the two engaged in a fierce fight.
A station officer at the Koforidua Police station, Chief Inspector Ebenezer Sakyi said the fight ensued when the victim, Kwesi Anthony who had visited his mother at Srodae, a suburb of Koforidua accused the suspect of stealing a mobile phone belonging to his mother.
He said the fight turned bloody when Kwame Kwakye allegedly pulled a knife and in the process stabbed the victim.
Chief Sakyi said the suspect sensing danger took to his heels but was arrested by residents and sent to the police station.
He stated that the victim was sent to hospital but died later.
The suspect, Chief Inspector Sakyi said will be put before court very soon.
