Residents of Goviefe Todzi in the Volta Region say they are finding it extremely difficult to send their farm produce to the markets due to the deplorable condition of the 3 kilometre Kpeve-Goviefe Todzi road.
Although several appeals have been made to government to fix the road, it remains the same, affecting the economic lives of the people.
Goviefe Todzi is one of the mountainous communities in the Afadzato South District.
The inhabitants are predominantly farmers whose produce feed the Kpeve, Have and Hohoe markets.
The only access to the community is through its 3 kilometre road from Kpeve. This road is rocky, narrow and steep, and drivers are unwilling to use it.
In recent years, the road has deteriorated so badly forcing drivers and motor riders to charge high fares, and increasingly, residents find it extremely difficult to send their farm produce to the markets.
