PHOTOS: Ghanaians slam Sarkodie for promoting a Nigerian song

-

Ghanaian rapper, Michael Owusu Addo, popularly known as Sarkodie, has incurred the wrath of music lovers for posting a song featuring Nigerian singer, Peter of P square fame on his Instagram.

In the said Instagram post, Sarkodie said “New fire from minister of Enjoyment Peter Psquare, Out now”, in a bid to help his Nigerian music colleague and friend promote his new single.

Some Ghanaians who were not happy with the post said Sarkodie should be using his platform to promote Ghanaian artistes and not the already-made Nigerian acts.

But others have also seen nothing wrong with Sarkodie’s action, saying he’s done nothing wrong since it’s a game of showbiz.

The critics of Sarkodie’s post say top Ghanaian acts including Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale experienced “mute” reactions from Nigerian fans during their performances in Nigeria at a Zylofon concert just a few days ago.

The crowd in Nigeria could hardly recognise or appreciate the Ghanaian artistes compared to the way Ghanaians cheer Nigerian acts and play their songs during events in Ghana.
