Photos: Ghanaian celebrities react to KNUST disturbances

In the wake of the disturbances that have rocked the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), some celebrities took to social media to express their views on the matter.

Some of the notable faces who waded into the matter include Okyeame Kwame, Joselyn Dumas, comedian DKB, and Efya.

DKB lambasted the school authorities for neglecting the consent of the students during their initial protest against sharing male-only halls with females and the ban on certain activities in the school.

The University has been reluctant in granting the students permits to organise the what they call “morale sessions” since the conversion of the single-sex halls into mixed halls.

Currently, there is an uneasy calm on campus as both the university’s internal security and KNUST Police have increased their presence on campus as students depart for their homes following an indefinite closure of the university.
