Agro-business, Frytol, a subsidiary of Wilmar Africa Limited, on Monday launched a maiden cooking competition dubbed ‘Enriching Lives’ in Accra.
The reality cooking show aims at finding talents in culinary, whom they can empower, mentor and support to start a business in the food industry.
Speaking at the launch, Brands Manager of Frytol, Eva Njeru explained that the focus of the organisation is to use this interesting and innovative platform to invest in the lives of its customers who have trusted and supported the brand to grow and stay relevant in the food industry over the years.
“The ‘Enriching Lives’ show will not only give the contestants the opportunity to learn and acquire culinary skills but also how to start and sustain a profitable food business and to live their dreams,” she said.
The hour long show promises to be entertaining and informative with a health/nutrition segment accompanied with sizzling drama as people from different backgrounds come together to compete for an enviable prize of GH¢100,000.00.
The ‘Enriching Lives’ journey began after thorough auditions in Accra, Kumasi and Tamale, where 10 finalists have been selected to compete for the ultimate prize.
The 10 finalists made up of five males and five females would be assessed by three judges on their cooking skills, etiquette, hygiene and how they can prevent food ingredient waste.
The judges, who have mastered the arts in culinary, logistics and food blogging, will evaluate the contestants and decide who will be evicted weekly.
The weekly Saturday show is set to begin airing on Joy Prime and TV3 on November 9, 2019 at 6:pm over a period of three months.
