Family members of Kojo Abekah, a man who died in the custody of the Breman Asikuma Police Station in the Central region, have attacked policemen at the station after accusing them of beating the suspect to death.
According to the angry family members, the attack was a way they want to register their displeasure about the unfortunate death of their relative.
Information gathered by Adom News revealed that the angry family members pelted stones at the police officers on duty leaving the window glasses of the station broken.
In an interview with Yaw Oppong, a family member of the deceased, he said the deceased was arrested when the police went on a swoop on wee smokers in the area.

“The police assaulted the deceased physically after arresting him and our checks reveal he was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital after he was rushed there.
“We are giving a 24-hour ultimatum to the police to have something meaningful to tell us, else we will burn down the police station,” he said.
However, reacting to the issue, the District Police Commander of Breman Asikuma, Chief Supt. Donkor Baah denied the allegations by the family.
