A 33-year-old trotro driver, identified as Augustine Arhinful, is accusing some police personnel at the Amanfrom District Police Station in the Central region of assault.
Obuasi, as he is popularly known, claimed about eight policemen brutalised him for parking at a wrong place.
Narrating his ordeal to Adom News’ Kofi Adjei, the driver claimed he was compelled to park at the said wrong location due to fuel shortage but the police without any question tolled his car to the Amanfrom Police Station.

“The police personnel confronted me at Brigade Roundabout and drove my car to Amanfrom District Police Station and I followed up. I was immediately attacked upon reaching there without any knowledge of my offence,” he bemoaned.
Obuasi, who sustained injuries, is appealing for justice.

Meanwhile, some angry drivers, who have experienced similar maltreatment in the area, appealed to the Inspector General of Police to call his men to order or face their wrath.
Attempts to get the police speak on the issue have proved futile.
