A middle-aged man has been beaten to death at Kade in the Eastern region.
The deceased, Mac James Mensah, popularly known as AKwabena Obolo, was said to have engaged in a fight with a tenant over his father’s property. He said the property belongs to him.
Brother of the deceased, Michael Mensah disclosed this on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem programme, Thursday.

He said his brother engaged in a scuffle with the tenant called Bismarck for allegedly stealing his father’s property.
“Bismarck agreed to build shops in front of our house but after my father died, he has claimed ownership,” he said in Twi.
Mr Mensah noted that, his brother, feeling cheated, stormed the shop with a cutlass to demand for his property.

In an attempt to take the cutlass from the deceased, he said, a worker of the tenant sustained cutlass wounds.
Sensing danger, Mr Mensah said his brother quickly run to his room but the angry workers broke his door, dragged him out and beat him to death.

“The workers of our tenant Bismarck, chained my brother’s hands and legs, dragged him on the floor and stoned him to death,” he narrated.
The distraught brother said after reporting the matter to the police, only two of the suspects excluding Bismarck, who gave the order, have been arrested.
Meanwhile, the body of the deceased is decomposing at the Kade Government Hospital morgue due to the family’s inability to pay for postmortem.
“The hospital is demanding GH₵1,000 for postmortem and because we have not been able to pay, my brother is lying on the bare floor,” he said in Twi.
