Nana Ama was joined by some of the inmates and officers to cut a huge birthday cake donated by Bakeshop Classics.
For a moment, it looks like the prisoners forgot about their predicament as they partied and interacted with Nana Ama McBrown.
Speaking to Showbiz on the sidelines of the celebration, Nana Ama said birthdays are very special days and she mostly spends it at orphanages but she wanted to do something different this year.
“This year, I decided to do something I haven’t done before, I wanted to go to the prisons to make them happy.”

“A lot of people know me but haven’t seen me up close and personal before so I decided to go there and be with them, it won’t end with today, I hope to do more,” she said.
Talking about her impression after visiting the prisons, this is what Nana Ama said, “I was impressed with the set-up, obviously nobody is happy to be in prison, nobody is happy to be taken away from their family but the environment is so neat and that, for me was good.”
“I felt so sad when I saw a pregnant woman and an old woman, no matter what might have sent them there, it is really sad to see such people in prison,” she said.
“That notwithstanding, I am glad I came to celebrate my special day with them and I thank my sponsors for making it all possible,” she said.
