The Municipal Director of Education in the Krachi East Municipality of the Oti Region, Mr Lawrence Agyemang relies on a motorbike, popularly known as ‘Okada’ for his official duties because the department’s official vehicle has broken down for years.
Speaking to Adom News, Mr Agyemang disclosed that the situation has affected monitoring and supervision of schools in the municipality, which is equally affecting academic performance of pupils.

Checks by Adom News’ reporter, Obrempongba K. Owusu, revealed that the director also faces accommodation problem, which has forced him and his family to manage a boy’s quarters after a three-bedroom project was abandoned by the Assembly.

The Municipal Chief Executive of the area, Patrick Jalima, speaking on the plight of the Ghana Education Service (GES) director, said the Assembly was doing all it could for the directorate to have all the necessary logistics to enhance quality education in the municipality.
