Former British Ambassador to Ghana, Jon Benjamin has made a hilarious post concerning footballer Asamoah Gyan’s decision to retire from his national football team, Ghana Black Stars.

The 33-year-old striker, who has scored 51 goals in 106 international matches, served notice on Monday that he had quit the national team permanently after the team’s coach James Kwesi Appiah took his position as captain from him.

Jon Benjamin, who said he had also withdrawn his friendship with the Black Star player on the basis of the announcement said he had also dropped his decision after President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo spoke to Gyan on Tuesday.

The diplomat tweeted: “I hereby rescind my decision to retire my friendship with Asamoah Gyan.”
