Peter of PSquare testifies against brother in ongoing fraud case

-

After years of silence, Peter Okoye of PSquare has finally opened up about the deep rift with his elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye, as he took the witness stand in an ongoing N1.38 billion fraud case.

The singer, popularly known as Mr. P, appeared before the High Court as the first prosecution witness for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

His testimony marks the first time Peter has publicly addressed long-standing issues of business mismanagement and betrayal within the PSquare brand.

In court, he detailed how Jude allegedly assumed full control of the group’s finances by making himself the sole signatory to their business accounts at Ecobank, Zenith, and FCMB — effectively locking Peter out of financial decisions.

He further recounted that the situation worsened when they were building their homes in Ikoyi, Lagos, and funding for his house was abruptly cut off for six months after the group’s disbandment.

Following his testimony, Peter took to social media to reveal he had endured over two decades of suffering in silence, manipulated under the guise of family loyalty.

“Love doesn’t manipulate, and real family does not drain or betray,” he wrote, hinting at the emotional weight behind the courtroom revelations.

Peter’s testimony has now become a pivotal moment in the high-profile case, shedding light not only on alleged financial irregularities but also on the unresolved family tensions that have lingered behind the scenes of one of Africa’s most successful music duos.

Court proceedings are expected to continue in the coming weeks.
